Our History

Bright Futures shares its extensive expertise across two key platforms; our not-for-profit UK-wide student society; and our industry-leading graduate recruitment consultancy.

Our graduate recruitment expertise began in 1994. Nearly 2 decades on we are as passionate as ever about recruiting the best talent for our clients. We also strive to empower students of all ages to develop the tools and motivation needed to secure the right career for them through our UK-wide student society.

Our team has seen tremendous growth over the past few years, continuing to recruit a whole range of candidates into firms from a multitude of disciplines. We work right through from attractionselection, securing, onboarding, to training and development. We even provide mentoring and help you work on retaining your new graduates and measuring the success of your graduate programme. However, our Consultancy division isn’t the only thing that has grown. Our Bright Futures Societies are a unique aspect of what we do and we are currently present in over 50 universities spanning right across the UK.

Established in 1977 by students at the University of Cambridge, the Bright Futures Society was originally called the Student Industrial Society (SIS). Its main aim was to enable students to find out more about the opportunities available to them upon graduation and the skills they would need to get there. After shaping itself over 35 years, along with a quick rebranded in 2007 (with a more fitting name we think) and legally ring-fencing it as a not-for-profit entity, the society has never been bigger! Covering all corners of England, Scotland and Wales, we are by far the largest career-focuses society in the UK.
